Pakistan witnesses steep decline in COVID cases
According to the latest figures issued by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 571 persons were tested positive while 6 died in the past 24 hours— taking Pakistan's COVID death toll to 30,298.
Islamabad: Pakistan is witnessing a significant drop in the daily coronavirus death count for the few days after over a month hike, the health department’s data showed Saturday morning.

Pakistan imposed new restrictions to curb the fast-spreading Omicron variant, hence, the positivity rate now stands at 1.82%. While the cumulative tally of the country has now climbed to 1,518,083.
As many as 1,469,930 patients have recovered from the disease.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 503,590 in the province with 13,536 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 571,548 in the province, while the death toll has reached 8,091.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 217,936 in the province with 6,299 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 35,429 confirmed cases while 377 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 43,163 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 790. On the other hand, there are 11,620 cases in GB with 191 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 134,797 cases in the capital city while 1,020 people have lost their lives.
