Lahore: Minister of State for Energy (Petroleum Division) Senator Dr. Musadik Malik on Friday inaugurated the gas transmission project in Hafizabad district. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Home and Legal Affairs Attaullah Tarar, former Member of National Assembly Saira Afzal Tarar, Mian Shahid Hussain Bhatti and Managing Director Sui Northern Ali J. Hamdani were also present.
Completed at a cost of Rs2,142 million, the project would benefit over 57,000 people in 150 villages.
Sui Northern spent Rs1,609 million on this project while the remaining Rs533 million was provided by the Government of Pakistan.
The said gas transmission project also included 25.3 km long transmission line of eight inch diameter, 582 km long distribution network and Sales Metering Station (SMS) at Pindi Bhattian.
The distribution network involved in the project was commissioned by connecting it to the existing supply main. With this project, where gas supply to new customers would be possible, the problem of gas pressure would also be solved in Pindi Bhattians, Kot Sarwar, Clay Ki Mandi, Jalalpur Bhattians and adjacent areas.
