Lakki Parwat: Four police officials including Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Iqbal Mohmand were martyred, while six sustained the injuries when terrorists attacked police check-post in Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, GNN reported Thursday.
According to details, the police mobile that was coming for rescue was also attacked near Peerwala.
The martyrs included DSP Iqbal Mohmand, constables Ali Marjaan, Karamatullah and Waqar Ahmed. While the injured officers are Farooq Shah, Amanatullah, Asghar Ali, Gul Tiaz, Arif and DSP’s driver Sardar Ali.
The exchange of fire between police and terrorists continued for quite a long time.
The injured cops were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital.
Following the incident, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the attack and expressed deep sorrow over the martyrdom of four police personnel.
He turned to twitter and wrote: “The sacrifices of our police officers/men in the war against terrorism are unforgettable”.
He prayed that May Allah grant the martyrs a place in His mercy and speedy recovery to the injured.
