Bilawal urges Chief Election Commissioner to ensure free and fair elections

Nowshera: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari urged the Chief Election Commission of Pakistan to ensure free and fair elections in the country.

“The chief election commissioner must ensure free and fair elections on February 8, 2023,” said Bilawal Bhutto Zardari while addressing a gathering in Nowshera on Monday.

He made it clear that there was no benefit of elections if the results were to be prepared before the polls.

The PPP chairman regretted that the inflation was touching the sky while unemployment and economic  challenges were also the serious problems.

He said that his party represented the poor and unprivileged class in the power corridor.

He also mentioned Benazir Income Support Programme, saying that the poor women were getting financial support through this program given by the PPP.

“Mian sahib says that the rich people who were investing in the country should not be held accountable but I say that they must be held accountable,” said Bilawal, adding that it was not acceptable to the PPP that the rich becoming richer and the poor were becoming poorer.

“I will become voice of the poor people if I get a chance to serve the country,” said the PPP chairman, adding that he always looked towards the public and not to any other.

“If you give us a chance we will try our best to deliver. We will accept only the public’s decision and not of any other,” said Bilawal.

Talking about Imran Khan without mentioning him, Bilawal said that he [Imran Khan] used to say to send others to jail but he was himself in the jail. He said that they [the PTI] tried to become Bhuttos after landing in the jails but they forgot everything when they were in the power.

He also came down the PML-N without mentioning its leadership, saying that “They [PML-N] will wonder to see votes against them till their upcoming generations,”.

Bilawal said that he admitted mistakes on his part in the past but the time gave another chance, hoping the public support in the upcoming polls.

He announced another convention in Upper Dir and then he would go to Chakwal and then he said they would go to Quetta on November 30.

“I will go to Punjab first if they give me the program first otherwise I will go to Quetta,” he added.
