Karachi: Two more passengers coming to Karachi from abroad have tested positive for COVID-19.
According to the details, a 28-year-old resident of Faisalabad and a 25-year-old resident of Gulbahar Malakand arrived in Karachi from Jeddah.
In view of the possible symptoms of corona in the affected passengers, both were tested which turned out to be positive.
So far, rapid antigen tests of 17 travelers from abroad have come positive. Out of 15 positive PC artist cases, two passengers were found to be positive for JN-1 variant of the novel coronavirus.
Out of seven positive cases of JN-1 variant, two are abroad while five are local people.
The health department is on alert regarding the JN-1 variant of Corona. According to the spokesman, the affected passengers have been informed about the test results and directed to quarantine.
In this regard, instructions have been issued in DHOs, THQs and hospitals of Sindh.
According to medical experts, the new variant of Corona is not as harmful as before, people are requested to take precautionary measures to prevent possible spread.
