Islamabad Police finalizes security plan for elections

Islamabad: The capital city Islamabad Police Wednesday finalized the security plan related to the general election.

According to the details, a high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Inspector General (IG) Islamabad Akbar Nasir Khan regarding the security of the city during the election.

The spokesperson of Islamabad Police told that the security plan related to the election has been finalized, but the practical measures are delayed due to the non-release of funds.

He stated that vacations of all police personnel have been banned until further notice. 10,000 personnel of police and other law enforcement agencies will perform duties. Volunteers and retired officers will be hired for additional duties, while the services of 500 women volunteers have also been requested.

The violation of the code of conduct of the election will not be tolerated. There will be no exception for the display of weapons, protests or disturbance of public peace. Cameras will be installed at all sensitive polling stations and central control room in Safe City Islamabad will be established.
