The synoptic situation says weak monsoon currents were penetrating central/upper parts of the country at lower tropospheric level


Islamabad: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Wednesday forecast hot and humid weather for most parts of the country during the next 24 hours.
However, rain-windstorm/thundershower is expected at isolated places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper/central Punjab, Kashmir and northeast Balochistan.
According to the synoptic situation, weak monsoon currents were penetrating central/upper parts of the country at lower tropospheric level. A westerly wave was also present over upper parts.
During the last 24 hours, hot and humid weather prevailed over most parts of the country. However, rain-wind/thundershower occurred at isolated places in eastern/central Punjab, Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.
The rainfall recorded was Punjab: Bahawalnagar 40mm, Sheikhupura 16, Okara 10, Noorpurthal 05, Faisalabad 04, Gilgit-Baltistan: Gilgit 02, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Drosh 01, Kashmir: Rawalakot 01mm.
The highest maximum temperatures recorded were Sibbi, Dalbandin 47C, Nokkundi 46 and Jacobabad 45C.
