Close to consensus over proposed constitutional amendment: Maulana Fazlur Rehman
Says a harmony has been developed in the drafts of JUI-F, PML-N and PPP
Tando Allahyar: Jamait Ulema-e-Islam chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman on Monday said that a consensus had been reached regarding the proposed constitutional amendments after great efforts.
"We have developed harmony in the drafts of JUI-F, PML-N and PPP," he said while talking to the media in Tando Ulyar.
Rehman said that he would meet Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari in Karachi tomorrow and Nawaz Sharif in Lahore, adding that if there was no consensus on the amendment, he would reject it.
The JUI-F chief further said that they would give priority to the things that were the need of the hour. "We have to do everything in the interest of the people and the country."
On October 12, a special committee of the Parliament set up to consult on the proposed constitutional amendments formed a sub-committee under the chairmanship of Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar to prepare recommendations related to the amendments.
