PTI’s remarkable progress in health unmatched with past governments: PM Imran Khan
The premier stressed the need for the appointment of people on mer
Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Monday that no other government had invested as much money in the health sector as the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government had done during the last three and a half years, GNN reported.
Addressing a function in Islamabad, he said that medical treatment in Pakistan was so expensive that usually, people in Pakistan had to spend their life savings for the purpose. “So much so that they become poor,” he regretted.
He went on to say that issuance of ‘health cards’ to the people was his dream, which finally came true. “No government in the past has ever taken steps for the welfare of common man as done by the PTI government,” he added.
The prime minister said the provision of the best facilities for emergency patients was in line with fulfilling the requirements of humanity.
He said the quality medical facilities at PIMS and Jinnah Hospital would facilitate the growing population of the capital as per the international best practices.
He thanked the overseas Pakistanis to sponsor the architectural designs of the PIMS emergency section.
Listing other achievements of his government, the prime minister said the introduction of a uniform curriculum in the country was another feather in his cap. “Class-based education system increases social disparities,” he said and claimed that the economic indicators were positive. “Today, the government’s income generation has exceeded its expenditures,” he added.
PM Imran further said that Islamabad was expanding fast because of the increasing population. “And when population increases, resources dwindle and problems increase,” he said.
The premier stressed the need for the appointment of people on merit.
