Khan steps down as the PM

Islamabad: Imran Khan is no more the Prime Minister of Pakistan after the Cebinet Division issued notification of his termination.
Under Article 224 of the Constitution of Pakistan -- once a notification is issued -- Imran Khan can continue as the prime minister for 15 days till the appointment of a caretaker prime minister.
Eralier in the day President Dr Arif Alvi approved the advice of Prime Minister Imran Khan to dissolve the National Assembly.
The president accorded his approval to the prime minister’s advice ‘under Article 58 (1) read with Article 48(1) of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan’, President Secretariat Press Wing said in a press release.
