PM accepts Hanif Abbasi's resignation as SAPM
Muhammad Hanif Abbasi was appointed as Special Assistant to the PM on April 27, 2022
Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved the resignation of Hanif Abbasi from his post of Special Assistant to PM, GNN reported on Friday.
According to details, the Cabinet Division has formally issued the notification regarding approval of his resignation.
On June 2, Hanif Abbasi has tendered his resignation from his post after Islamabad High Court raised objections to his appointment.
Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Hanif Abbasi said wrote in his resignation, “With utmost respect, I, Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, was appointed as Special Assistant to the PM vide notification on April 27, 2022, being unable to perform duties, hence I would like to give my resignation and want to thank you for giving me this opportunity.”
Hanif Abbasi said, “I can do public service without holding any public office.”
On May 17, the Islamabad High Court stopped Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leader Hanif Abbasi from performing his duties as special assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) after his appointment was challenged in court due to a case registered against him by the Anti Narcotics Force.
