While addressing a press conference, the SAPM said that hospitals of Pakistan are dealing with the influx of patients, as third wave intensifies across country.

“The number of patients in our hospitals and corona wards are increasing with each passing day. The highest numbers of cases are being reported in Punjab,” he said.

While urging citizens to follow health-related SOPs, the SAPM said that it is everyone’s responsibility to wear face masks in public places.

About vaccination drive, Dr. Faisal said that citizens above 70 years can get themselves vaccinated from anywhere as there is no barrier for them.

Pakistan is presently experiencing the third wave of coronavirus, which is said to be deadlier and more contagious.

According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 3,876 cases of coronavirus were reported while 42 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 13,799.

The total number of confirmed cases reached to 623,135.

As many as 579,760 patients have recovered from the disease with 2,122 critical cases.
