‘Covid third wave’: Pakistan reports highest single-day cases for second consecutive day
Islamabad: Pakistan has reported highest single-day increase in Covid-19 cases for second consecutive days as the third wave of the pandemic continued to rage across the country.

According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 4,468 cases of coronavirus were reported while 67 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 14,158.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 649,824.
As many as 593,282 patients have recovered from the disease with 2,842 critical cases.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 210,095 in the province with 6,190 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 264,355 in the province, while the death toll has reached 4,487.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 83,630 in the province with 2,274 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 19,453 confirmed cases while 205 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 12,245 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 342. On the other hand, there are 4,990 cases in GB with 103 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 55,056 cases in the capital city while 557 people have lost their lives.
