Electricity tariff increased by 9 paisas per unit
The power tariff increased in connection with fuel adjustment charges for the month of September
Islamabad: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has approved an increase of 9 paisas per unit in electricity tariff.
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has notified an increase of Rs 0.9/unit in the electricity tariff for fuel charges adjustment (FCA) for September.
The hike will be applicable on the bills of October.
It is expected that the increase in the price will render another burden of Rs1.1 billion on the users.
The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CCPA) has requested the authorities to approve the hike of Rs 20 paisas per unit. However, NEPRA said only Rs 0.9/unit is justified.
NEPRA also added that the hike will not be applied to K-Electric, Lifeline, and electric vehicle charging stations.
