WhatsApp rolls out 'view once messages' feature
The updated version will allow users to send a text that can only be seen once before it disappears.

San Francisco: Meta-owned WhatsApp is rolling out the' view once messages' feature in the platform’s beta version, WaBetaInfo reported Friday.
According to details, instant-messaging platform is working on its latest update, the ‘View Once’ text messages feature.
The upcoming feature would be an updated form of the already existing View Once feature—which currently works solely for images and videos— extending the service to text messages as well.
Reportedly, the latest ‘View Once’ feature is still in the trial version. This means that it would be launched first through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.22.25.20, before it could be available to its general users around the globe.

According to WhatsApp, the updated version will allow users to send a text that can only be seen once before it disappears.
The platform might also block its users from taking screenshots of View Once texts, as it already does with images and videos. And it might not even be possible to share, forward, copy, and save them.
The feature will create an additional layer of privacy for the users as it would not be possible to forward and copy ‘view once’ text messages.
WABetaInfo, in a blog post, wrote: "This is very useful when you share very important information and you want to immediately delete them from the recipient’s phone for added privacy so you don’t even need to delete the view once text for everyone since it will be automatically deleted".
