Electricity price to go up as NEPRA approves hike of Rs 0.64 per unit
Islamabad: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved an increase of Rs. 0.64 per unit in power tariff, third energy price rise in three days.
According to details, the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had requested NEPRA to increase power tariffs by Rs. 0.65 per unit following which the power regulatory body has approved price hike.
A notification has also been issued in this regard and according to which, the fuel price adjustment will only be applicable on April bills.
The fuel price adjustment will be applicable to all consumers except K Electric, According to the notification read.
It may be recalled that on February 12, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority approved an increase of Rs. 1.95 per unit in power tariff.
On February 11, electricity prices were increased by R. 0. 83 per unit in lieu of monthly fuel charges adjustment for December 2020.
On February 10, Nepra approved increase in electricity rates by Rs. 1.53 per unit on account of monthly fuel cost adjustment.
