ATC issues non-bailable arrest warrant for Rana Sanaullah
The court ordered the police to arrest Rana Sanaullah and produce him on March 28.
Gujranwala: Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Gujranwala Tuesday dismissed Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah's appeal for exemption from today's appearance and issued a non-bailable arrest warrant.
Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah's bailable arrest warrant was issued by Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) judge Rana Zahid Iqbal Khan.
The court ordered the police to arrest Rana Sanaullah and produce him on March 28.
It is pertinent to note that on February 24, the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) had issued a bailable arrest warrant for the Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah in a case registered at Industrial Police Station in Gujrat and ordered the police to arrest and produce him on March 7.
Today, on behalf of Rana Sanaullah, his lawyer, Advocate Abdul Majeed, appeared in the court and filed a plea for exemption from Sanaullah's appearance in the court today.
The lawyer took a stand that due to official engagements, Rana cannot appear in the court today and will appear in the court on the next hearing.
The court today issued a non-bailable arrest warrant while rejecting the plea of exemption from attendance.
Notably, a case was registered against Rana Sanaullah on August 5, 2022, on the complaint of local leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) League, Shah Kaz Aslam, under anti-terrorism provisions, in which he was charged with uttering threats of killing the Chief Secretary and his family.
