ECP, KP governor to meet for polls date
ECP delegation will go to Peshawar today for the meeting.
Peshawar: The meeting of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) governor Haji Ghulam Ali are scheduled today (Wednesday) to discuss date for elections in KP, GNN reported.
According to details, the elections date will be discussed as per Supreme Court orders. After which it is expected that the date will also be announced.
KP governor Ghulam Ali replied to ECP’s letter directing the team to prepare well for the elections. He also wrote that all aspects should be analyzed for peaceful and transparent elections.
Earlier ECP had invited KP governor to Islamabad stating that the elections date can be mutually discussed. The governor did not accept the invite, therefore election commission delegation is going to Peshawar today for the meeting.
A committee has also been formed in the supervision of secretary election commission which has called the consultation meeting headed by ECP chief Sikandar Sultan Raja. The meeting will review the preparations made for the polls.
