Judge threat case: Imran’s non-bailable warrant converted into bailable

Islamabad: District and Sessions Court in Islamabad Wednesday issued a detailed decision to convert the non-bailable warrant of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan into a bailable warrant in threatening female judge Zeba Chaudhary case, GNN reported.

Additional Sessions Judge Sikandar Khan issued a detailed decision comprising of two pages which said that judicial magistrate should have considered the verdict of March 24 in which non-bailable arrest warrant was converted to bailable, adding: “No copy of the non-bailable warrant was attached to the judicial magistrate's judgment”.

According to the written decision, the judicial magistrate should have issued bailable warrant first instead of a non-bailable one.

The investigating officer said: “Bailable warrant at the residence of Imran Khan was also not complied with”. The judgment of the trial court on objection is converted into a bailable warrant.

Notably, on March 31, the District Sessions Court, in a summary judgment, changed the non-bailable arrest warrant of Chairman PTI Imran Khan to a bailable warrant till April 18 in exchange for surety bond of Rs20,000.
