Strict action to be taken against PTI miscreants, says Rana Sanaullah
The Interior Minister says the pubic did not show any reaction on arrest of Imran Khan rather the groups of few hundreds of people took to the streets in different parts of the country.
Islamabad: Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah on Saturday declared that strict action would be taken against the ‘PTI miscreants’ responsible for vandalizing public property during protests against the arrest of Imran Khan in the Al-Qadir Trust corruption case.
Sanaullah stated that CCTV recordings would be used to identify the perpetrators, who would be held accountable.
He also accused Imran Khan of orchestrating the acts of anarchy and producing a cult full of hate, violence, abuse, and threats since 2014, which is not a political party but a mindset.
Sanaullah presented facts and figures regarding the number of protesters, which dropped significantly from 45,000 on May 9 to 6,910 on May 11, across different locations in Islamabad, Punjab, and KP.
However, the interior minister could not give satisfactory answer when asked why the federal government approved deployment of army in Punjab and KP if the protesters were just few hundreds.
Sanaullah also criticized PTI members for using petrol bombs, burning defense installations, and martyrs' graveyards, and asked which political party burned houses, schools, and antique buildings. He deplored the looting and burning of shops, business places, and sensitive locations, and pointed out that Mr. Khan invested over 10 years in preparing such terrorists against his arrest.
Sanaullah added that Mr. Khan incited people to burn houses, attack buildings, loot banks and shops, and damage public property. He lamented that Mr. Khan was granted unforeseen relief by CJP Umar Ata Bandial in the history of Pakistan's courts, adding that Mr. Khan asked the court to grant him bail in cases yet to be lodged.
Sanaullah accused Mr. Khan of exploiting public money for favoritism and keeping it for his Al-Qadir Trust. He added that the nation should know Mr. Khan properly, who is now exposed.
