Absar Alam injured in assassination attempt
Former chairman Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) and senior Journalist Absar Alam got a bullet shot on Tuesday while he was walking in Islamabad's F-11 Park.
According to details, the former PEMRA chairman was injured in an assassination attempt and got a gunshot in front of his house while walking in Park.
Absar Alam was shifted to a well-known hospital.
According to police, veteran journalist was shot in the abdomen by an unidentified person however his condition is out of danger.
CCTV cameras are being used to arrest the person.
Absar Alam also recorded a video on his way to the hospital and posted it on social media platform Twitter in which he says: "I was walking in the park when someone shot me. I got a bullet in my ribs, and I will not give up. This is my message to those who have done this, and I am not afraid of such ploys."
Senior journalist Absar Alam said in a statement that he felt that an unknown person was coming towards him and suddenly that person fired and fled.
On the other hand, Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has taken notice of the firing on the senior journalist while he also ordered an immediate investigation of the incident.
