Islamabad: Pakistan has reported 148 deaths and 5,499 new cases of coronavirus in one day as the third wave of the pandemic continued to rage across the country.

According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 5,499 cases of coronavirus were reported while 148 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 16,453.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 772,381.
As many as 672,619 patients have recovered from the disease with 4,528 critical cases.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 276,535 in the province with 7,664 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 274,196 in the province, while the death toll has reached 4,559.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 108,462 in the province with 2,953 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 21,127 confirmed cases while 225 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 15,873 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 446. On the other hand, there are 5,204 cases in GB with 104 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 70,984 cases in the capital city while 649 people have lost their lives.
