Graubünden: Swiss cyclist Gino Mäder, 26, tragically lost his life on Friday after a horrific crash during a race.
The incident occurred as Mäder and fellow racer Magnus Sheffield of the U.S. were propelled into a ravine while descending in the Swiss Alps.
Mäder suffered the accident following Albula Pass, reaching speeds of approximately 62mph.
The exact cause of the crash remains unknown, as the TV broadcasts did not capture the moment of the riders veering off the road.
The Graubünden police have launched an investigation.
Reports indicate that both riders crashed at high speed.
While Sheffield suffered bruises but remained stable, Mäder's injuries were more severe.
