Rawalpindi:  In a scathing tweet, Awami Muslim League chief and former federal interior minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed criticized Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, stating that only the Sharif family is satisfied with his economic policies.

Taking to Twitter on Sunday, Rashid highlighted that economic experts have deemed Dar as the most incompetent finance minister in the country.

He further mentioned that it is the Sharif family who appointed him, and all key positions have been distributed within the family.

Rashid accused Dar of wreaking havoc on the economy, while Prime Minister Shehbaz defended him and warned of consequences for anyone trying to undermine him.

Expressing his concerns, Rashid emphasized that regardless of a technocrat or democratic government, the only option to stabilize the economy is the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

He stressed that by June 30, it would become evident whether the country would default or survive.

Rashid cautioned that if the economy collapses, the entire nation will suffer.

Pointing out the disparity between the prime minister's and finance minister's speeches on the budget, Rashid warned that political instability would lead to destruction and ruin.

Rashid also referenced Bilawal Bhutto's statement on winning future elections, drawing a comparison to their victory in the Karachi mayoral election.

The former federal minister criticized the power imbalance, where a bill passed by five members of the assembly is imposed on 240 million people of Pakistan.

He lamented the severe constitutional, political, economic, and financial crises in the country, with the poor being the most affected.

Rashid expressed the need for someone to alleviate their suffering.

Concluding his tweet, Rashid observed that people have become aware and will not vote solely based on development promises.
