Annual reports have revealed a disturbing rise in suicidal cases within Indian Army.


Delhi: More than 100 suicides occur annually in the Indian military, with one soldier taking their own life every third day, according to a recent report.
Alarming incidents of suicide among officers and soldiers of the Indian Army have come to light, with one military personnel ending their life every third day.
The report highlights that the Indian Army witnesses over 100 cases of suicide each year, with a majority of the individuals stationed in occupied Kashmir.
Details reveal that more than 3,300 Indian soldiers have taken their lives from 2001 to the present.
Disturbingly, in just the last five years, over 800 military personnel succumbed to the pressures and hardships of their profession, resorting to such extreme measures.
Even female officers within the Indian Army are compelled to resort to suicide.
