According to the Health Minister of Sindh, Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, the province currently has one doctor available for approximately 7,500 individuals, whereas the requirement is one doctor for every 1,500 people.
Speaking to the media after addressing a seminar at a private university in Karachi, Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho highlighted that nearly 8,000 doctors are currently serving across Sindh, but this is inadequate to meet the healthcare needs of the population.

Pakistan is among the eight countries globally where the population is expected to double by 2050.
The list includes Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Nigeria, the Philippines, and the United States.
