The SPI for the whole consumption group in the week under review increased by 29.16% as compared to the same week previous year.


Islamabad: The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI), which measures weekly inflation, showed a nominal decline of 0.07 percent for the total consumption group during the week ending on July 20, according to data released on Friday.
According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the SPI for the week under review in the above-mentioned group was recorded at 258.45 points as compared to 258.63 points during the past week.
The SPI for the whole consumption group in the week under review increased by 29.16% as compared to the same week previous year.
The weekly SPI with the base year 2015-16 =100 is covering 17 urban centres and 51 essential items for all expenditure groups.
The SPI for the lowest consumption group up to Rs 17,732, increased by 0.51 per cent and went up to 267.24 points from last week’s 265.88 points.
