Karachi: Govt decided to charge additional Rs24.50bn on electricity bills on Thursday.
The government opted to impose an additional burden of Rs24.50 billion on the city's energy consumers, which is disappointing news for the people of Karachi.
A further burden of 24 billion 50 crore rupees will be placed on Karachi residents as a result of the government's decision to introduce a Rs1.52 surcharge to power bills for consumers in Karachi.
While the surcharge on electricity bills is increased on a quarterly basis, this fee of Rs1.52 per bill would be in effect for one year.
The federal government has made a request to Nepra in this regard, and the organization will review it on August 15.
