Over 164,000 people vaccinated against COVID-19 in one day: Asad Umar
Islamabad: The Minister of Planning and Development Asad Umar has stated that it is the first time that over one hundred and sixty four thousand people were vaccinated against novel coronavirus in a single day.
On his official Twitter handle, the minister wrote, “Yesterday, for the first time in a single day, the number of vaccinations exceeded one and a half million and total of 164,000 people were vaccinated”.
He further added that the government started vaccinating people aged 40 years and above across the country.
کل پہلی دفعہ کسی بھی ایک دن میں ویکسین لگانے کی تعداد ڈیڑھ لاکھ سے تجاوز کر گئی. کل ایک لاکھ چونسٹھ ہزار سے زائد افراد کو ویکسین لگائ گئ. کل پہلا دن تھا کے 40 سال اور اس سے زیادہ عمر کے لوگوں کو ویکسین لگائ گئ.

Meanwhile, Pakistan is presently experiencing the third wave of coronavirus which is said to be deadlier and more contagious than previous two waves.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 3,377 cases of coronavirus were reported while 161 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 18,149.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 837,523. As many as 733,062 patients have recovered from the disease with 5,326 critical cases.
