Lahore: Eye surgeries under the Sehat card scheme have been suspended in Punjab.
State Life Insurance Company has informed hospitals performing eye surgeries about the suspension.
Private hospitals across the province will no longer conduct cataract operations under the Sehat card scheme.
While eye surgeries under Sehat cards have been suspended in Punjab, patients undergoing hernia, appendix, and kidney stone surgeries will also face limited coverage.
The State Life Insurance Company has notified hospitals across Punjab about the suspension of eye surgeries, stating that cataract operations under health cards in private hospitals will no longer be available.
The notification further outlines that patients undergoing surgeries for hernia, appendix, kidney stones, prostate, and tonsils will be required to bear 30% of the expenses.
This decision will take effect from September 1st, according to the insurance company's communication.
