Islamabad: The caretaker law ministers of the federation and the four provinces proposed to hold the elections of national and all provincial assemblies on the same day.
According to details, a meeting of four caretaker provincial law ministers was held under the chairmanship of caretaker federal law minister.

According to the spokesperson of Ministry of Law, it has been said in the meeting that Election Commission, which is an independent constitutional body, is responsible for fair and transparent elections.
Earlier in April 2023, in the joint session of Parliament, a resolution was passed to hold the elections of National and Provincial Assemblies on the same day. Former federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Murtaza Javed Abbasi presented the resolution in the Parliament session which was approved by majority vote.
