Alia Bhatt shines at National Awards for 'Gangu Bai Kathiyawadi' role
Alia, who was presented the award by the President of India, adorned herself in a saree created by Tasbia Saatchi.
Delhi: Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor couldn't contain his happiness as his partner, Alia Bhatt, received the Best Actress award at the 69th National Film Awards held in Delhi.
The prestigious National Film Awards ceremony, one of the most celebrated events in the Indian film industry, took place at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi, where the winners of the 69th edition were honored.
Sharing the Best Actress award with Kriti Sanon, Alia's outstanding performance in the film "Gangu Bai Kathiyawadi" earned her this accolade.
On the other hand, Allu Arjun was recognized as the Best Actor for his role in the movie "Pushpa."
Draped in an exquisite saree designed by renowned Indian designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee and adorned with fresh flowers in her hair, Alia received the award with grace from Indian President Draupadi Murmu.
Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor, seated among the audience, captured this remarkable moment on video, which quickly made rounds on social media, leaving fans and followers delighted.
The 2021 National Film Awards, announced in August, celebrated several outstanding films, including "RRR," "Sardar Udham," "Gangu Bai Kathiawadi," and "The Kashmir Files," all of which received multiple awards.
"Rocketry: The Nambi Effect" was honored as the Best Feature Film, and legendary actress Waheeda Rehman was presented with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award, India's highest film honor.
