Smog: Lockdown in 10 districts of Punjab today
The pollution ratio in the air of Lahore increased to 379 in the early morning.
Lahore: The provincial capital Lahore is at the top of the most polluted cities in the world.
In view of the deteriorating smog situation, a lockdown is in force in six divisions including Lahore. All public and private educational institutions will remain closed.
The pollution ratio in the air of Lahore increased to 379 in the early morning. The global environment website declared Lahore as the most polluted city in the world. Smart Lockdown is in effect in 10 districts across Punjab.
The air pollution rate in different areas of the city has crossed 500, Upper Mall Canal Road is the most polluted area with AQI of 564, Shimla Pahari is recording 523, Mall Road is 496 and Gulberg is recorded at 475.
Earlier on yesterday, in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi, it was decided that educational institutions will remain closed on Friday and Saturday in 10 districts of Punjab, including Lahore.
It was also stated in the meeting that preparations have also been started for artificial rain and installation of smog towers to combat smog.
