Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to not participate in election

Karachi: Senior politician and former Prime Minister Shahid Khan Abbasi Wednesday said that his principled decision is not to participate in the election.

Talking to the media outside National Accountability Bureau (NAB) court in Karachi, former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi stated: “We ask the NAB and the court what are our cases. Look at the cases of Nawaz Sharif, how the court issued decisions before the election. But after five years he has been acquitted by the High Court”.

The former prime minister raised the question that after the acquittal of Nawaz Sharif, someone should ask former chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Javed Iqbal that why he was creating these fake cases.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi stated that the country whose justice is based on injustice cannot run, either country will run or NAB. If you want to run the country then there should be no NAB. A person who has been Prime Minister for three times, if he does not get the justice, than who will. Look at the other developing countries, where there is justice that country will develop.

He said that former Chairman NAB Javed Iqbal will have to account.

In the current political situation of the country, the election can be postponed for a few days. I do not know anything about Chaudhry Nisar joining Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI), however, my principle decision is that I will not contest the election, said Abbasi.

The former Prime Minister further said that elections must be held but there should not be power for power's sake.
