Balochistan govt to install CCTV, appoint army at sensitive polling stations
Caretaker Chief Minister Ali Mardan Khan said that preparations are underway for peaceful, transparent and impartial elections in Balochistan.


Quetta: The caretaker government of Balochistan has decided to install CCTV cameras at the most sensitive polling stations of the province and hire the services of Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps to assist the police and Levies in sensitive areas for the general elections 2024.
According to the details, this decision was taken in a meeting held to discuss the general situation of law and order in the province and peaceful elections under the chairmanship of caretaker Chief Minister Balochistan Ali Mardan Khan Domki.
Addressing the meeting, Caretaker Chief Minister Ali Mardan Khan said that preparations are underway for peaceful, transparent and impartial elections in Balochistan, special measures are being taken to restore peace at sensitive and highly sensitive polling stations.
He stated that the progress of holding peaceful and transparent elections in the province will be continuously reviewed.
In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary Interior, Zahid Saleem, while briefing the attendees added: “18 districts of Balochistan have been declared highly sensitive regarding the elections, 5067 polling stations will be established in Balochistan for general elections 2024, of which 2055 polling stations are highly sensitive, and 2180 are sensitive while 832 are declared normal.
Inspector General (IG) Balochistan told the meeting that a strategy has been devised for the security of candidates, election campaign and election staff in the province.
