PTI reveals candidates for majority of NA seats
The party declared candidates for 233 out of the 266 general seats in the National Assembly, seemingly dismissing any seat adjustment plans.
Lahore: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) revealed its candidates for the upcoming February 8 general elections, covering national assembly constituencies across the country.
Taking to X, the PTI announced the tickets for its leaders for both National Assembly.
The party declared candidates for 233 out of the 266 general seats in the National Assembly, seemingly dismissing any seat adjustment plans.
Among the notable PTI candidates, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan is set to contest from NA-10 in Buner, Sher Afzal Marwat from NA-41 in Lakki Marwat, and Ayaz Amir secured a ticket for NA-58 in Chakwal. Murad Saeed is slated to contest on NA-4 in Swat, and Omar Ayub Khan will vie for NA-18 in Haripur.
However, several constituencies, including NA-132 in Kasur, where PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif will contest, are awaiting nominations. Uncertainty also surrounds four Lahore constituencies – NA-117, NA-119, NA-120, and NA-125 – where PTI is yet to announce its candidates. Decisions for NA-74 in Sialkot, NA-82 in Sargodha, and NA-94 are also pending.
Former National Assembly speaker Asad Qaiser is the PTI candidate for NA-19 in Swabi, Ali Muhammad Khan for NA-23 in Mardan-III, Shahryar Afridi for NA-35 in Kohat, and Ali Amin Gandapur for NA-44 in DI Khan-I.
In Lahore, the PTI disclosed its contenders, with Aaliyah Hamza, Wasim Qadir, Latif Khosa, and Afzal Azim securing tickets in various constituencies. Karamat Khokhar and Zaheer Abbas received endorsements in NA-126 and NA-127, respectively, while Mian Azhar emerged as the party’s candidate for NA-129. Senior party leader Yasmin Rashid's ticket for NA-130 was also confirmed.
