DG Environment told the court that the pollution does not stop on palm leaves.


Lahore: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has stopped the planting of palm trees on highways and motorways. Justice Shahid Karim heard the petitions of Haroon Farooq and others for the remedy of smog.
According to the details, the DG Environment told the court that the pollution does not stop on palm leaves, the palm tree grows better in hot areas, this is not successful on Islamabad motorways and highways.
Justice Shahid Karim asked that there should be an investigation on the renovation and decoration of the underpasses in Lahore, who has earned money for the renovation of the underpasses?
He stated that the condition of the underpasses has become even stranger and they are looking like a joke. Strange lights have been installed which have been switched off the previous day.
Justice Shahid Karim further asked that water should be saved from being wasted, reports are saying that the water will run out by 2026 and 2027. What steps did Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) take regarding the installation of water meters?
The member of the water commission said that one year's time is required to install water meters.
