No internet service on Feb 8 in Balochistan
It is to be noted that Sindh High Court directed the federal government and the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) to ensure uninterrupted internet access throughout the election period.
Quetta: The caretaker provincial Information Minister Jan Achakzai has said that the internet services will be restricted in sensitive areas of Balochistan amid the upcoming general elections on February 8.
According to the details, this step comes amidst concerns that terrorists could use social media platforms for communication and coordination during the polls.
Achakzai stated that internet services will be temporarily suspended in areas like Turbat, Mach, and Chaman due to security threats. It is our utmost responsibility to ensure the safety of citizens in elections.
Internet services will be temporarily restricted in sensitive polling booths located in various areas of #Balochistan.
