Rangers, FC, Police hold security of ECP
The entry of irrelevant persons into the Election Commission was prevented.
Islamabad: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) security was handled by Rangers, Frontier Corps (FC) and police personnel.
The entry of irrelevant persons into the Election Commission was prevented, while Rescue 1122 and fire brigade vehicles were also delivered to the Election Commission office.
On the other hand, 600,000 security personnel including Pakistan Army, civil armed forces and police personnel have been deployed across the country for the peaceful conduct of today's general elections.
The polling process for general elections in Pakistan has started today at 8:00am which will continue till 5:00pm without any break.
A total of 5,96,618 personnel are performing duty for peaceful conduct of elections, while 1,6,942 personnel of the Quick Response Force are deployed on the request of the Election Commission.
23,940 security personnel of Pakistan Army are permanently performing election duty while 130,882 personnel of Pakistan Army, Civil Armed Forces are on election duty.
465,736 police officers have been appointed across the country, in which 216,000 police officers have been appointed in Punjab province, 110,720 police officers have been appointed in Sindh.
92,535 policemen have been appointed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 46,481 in Balochistan.
It is pertinent to note that a day before the polling, Pakistan Army and Civil Armed Forces held flag marches in sensitive areas across the country.
Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies are committed to provide a peaceful environment to voters.
