National Assembly's maiden sitting scheduled for tomorrow
The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs requested the Prime Minister for the approval of making arrangements to convene the maiden session of the newly elected Lower House.
Islamabad: The first sitting of the National Assembly will be held at the Parliament House in Islamabad tomorrow at ten in the morning.
According to a notification issued by the National Assembly Secretariat, the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs requested the Prime Minister for the approval of making arrangements to convene the maiden session of the newly elected Lower House.
The Prime Minister, after obtaining the legal opinion from the Ministry of Law and Justice, gave his approval under clause (2) of Article 91 of the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
Earlier in the day, Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi visited the National Assembly Secretariat today and reviewed arrangements for the inaugural session of the National Assembly.
On the occasion, he was given a detailed briefing on the arrangements and the facilitation desk established for the registration of newly elected members of the lower house.
