Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Thursday reached out to Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) seeking support in the upcoming elections for Prime Minister (PM) and National Assembly (NA) speaker positions.

Asad Qaiser, during the meeting, emphasized the importance of announcing election results in accordance with Forms 45, a sentiment echoed by both PTI and JUI-F.

He stressed upon the need for the establishment of the rule of law in the country for its prosperity.

A PTI delegation including its nominees for Prime Minister Omar Ayub and NA speaker Amir Dogar visited JUI-F chief Maulana Fazalur Rehman’s residence in Islamabad for discussions.

Omar Ayub, PTI’s nominee for the prime ministerial role, stated that they met with the JUI-F chief to request support for PTI's nominees in the elections for the prime minister and National Assembly speaker positions.

Responding to a journalist's query about the PTI founder's awareness of the meeting, Omar Ayub confirmed that the PTI leadership was informed. He highlighted that several political parties expressed reservations about the election results.

On February 15, a PTI delegation led by Asad Qaiser, accompanied by Amir Dogar, Barrister Saif, Fazal Muhammad, and Umair Niazi, met with JUI-F chief Maulana Fazalur Rehman to convey the party's concerns regarding alleged widespread rigging in the 2024 General Elections.

Both parties expressed serious reservations regarding the election outcomes during their discussions.
