Saheefa laments local dramas for showing violence against women
The actress revealed that this is the reason she has refused to work in many dramas for the last four years and rejected more than 25 scripts of this category.
Lahore: Famous Pakistani actress and model Saheefa Jabbar lamented the Pakistani dramas for showing violence against women.
“Such scripts are being written in which nothing is particularly new, and there is not even a single drama in which a woman is not slapped,” said the actress while sharing up her experience about the local drama industry in a show of a local private TV.
Saheefa Jabbar said that psychological issues in many persons exist but a few of them are aware of these issues. People who are aware of these issues don’t visit a psychiatrist as they can’t afford the expenses which are 3 to 4 thousand every week.
In such miserable conditions, Pakistani dramas should contribute their part to highlight this issue. Instead of contributing a positive role, Pakistani dramas are exacerbating this issue, especially the female characters are portrayed highly pathetic.
