Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Thursday convened a meeting of the apex committee of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) regarding bringing foreign investment in the country.
According to the details, Shehbaz Sharif will preside over the meeting of the Apex Committee, Army Chief General Asim Munir and other senior officials will participate in the meeting.
The issues related to investment in the country will be reviewed. The former Caretake Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar and the caretaker cabinet have also been specially invited to attend the meeting.
On the other hand, after the successful negotiations between Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), a staff level agreement has been reached, under which Pakistan will receive 1.100 million dollars from the IMF. has been. The IMF targets were implemented in a timely manner by the Ministry of Finance.
In the statement issued by the IMF, it is said that Pakistan has taken steps to stabilize the country's economy and institutional reforms. The Executive Board will give final approval to the staff level agreement in April. Inflation is predicted to be higher than the target during the current financial year in Pakistan.
The statement added that Pakistan's economy is facing challenges for which measures are needed. It is hoped that the newly elected government will implement the economic goals in time. Sectors outside the tax net will have to be brought into the tax net.
