Pervaiz Elahi approaches LHC amid harassing polling agents
There is a violation of the code of conduct and the elections laws in the constituency.
Lahore: Former chief minister Punjab, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has approached Lahore high court (LHC) against harassing the polling agents and voters in by-elections.
According to the details, in the filed plea by Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi the election commission Gujrat police and others have included as a party.
It is stated in the plea that the applicant is the candidate in by-elections from PP-32. Police is harassing the applicant’s supporters and family members. On submitting the nomination papers, the lawyers were also harassed.
The applicant said that the returning officer, police including other opponent candidates are fully supporting them in this regard. Provincial minister Shafay Hussain is running an election campaign of the opponent candidate in the constituency. There is a violation of the code of conduct and the elections laws in the constituency.
It is pleaded in the petition that court should order to stop harassing the supporters of Pervaiz Elahi, polling agents and others.
