Hearing on Bushra Bibi’s transfer request to Adiala Jail adjourned
The hearing on Bushra Bibi's transfer from Bani Gala sub-jail to Adiala Jail adjourned till next week.
Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Monday adjourned the hearing on the petition filed by former Prime Minister Imran Khan's wife Bushra Bibi for transfer from Bani Gala sub-jail to Adiala Jail till next week.
According to the details, IHC Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb heard Bushra Bibi's request, lawyers Usman Riaz Gul and Khalid Chaudhry appeared before the court on behalf of Bushra Bibi.
Public advocate Malik Abdul Rehman gave arguments that they are seeing on their own that there is nothing illegal about the establishment of sub-jails, they need some time for it.
Justice Miangul Hassan remarked that how can the Chief Commissioner declare himself a provincial government? You have kept them in solitary confinement, it is a form of torture, there is a writ and six miscellaneous petitions in this case.
The judge spoke to the public prosecutor that you have no ground.
The court inquired from Bushra Bibi's lawyer if they still want to transfer Bushra Bibi from Bani Gala to Adiala Jail? Lawyer Usman Riaz Gul replied that yes of course, ‘We want to transfer Bushra Bibi to Adiala Jail’.
The court remarked that they want no further delay in this case.
Later, the court accepted the request of the public prosecutor to seek written arguments from the lawyers of Bushra Bibi for the next hearing and adjourned the hearing of the case till next week.
It is pertinent to note that on April 16, the IHC rejected the request of Bushra Bibi for her transfer from Bani Gala sub-Jail to Adiala Jail for non-compliance. While Justice Miangul Hassan remarked that lawyers themselves do not want Bushra Bibi to go to jail.
Later on the same day, former Prime Minister Imran Khan's wife Bushra Bibi filed an appeal in the Islamabad High Court regarding the transfer from sub-jail Bani Gala to Adiala Jail.
On April 18, the IHC adjourned the hearing till April 22, reviving the dismissed petition of former Prime Minister Imran Khan's wife Bushra Bibi for non-compliance with her transfer from Bani Gala to Adiala Jail.
