IHC dismisses plea seeking Imran Khan’s disqualification in Tyrian White Case
A IHC three-bench holds that a division bench of the Islamabad High Court had already held that the plea was not inadmissible
Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) dismissed a petition on Tuesday that sought the disqualification of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan in connection with the Tyrian White case. The court ruled the petition inadmissible.
A three-member bench, led by Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri, issued the ruling on the petition filed by citizen Muhammad Sajid. The bench also included Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir and Justice Saman Rafat.
The petition aimed to disqualify Imran Khan on the grounds that he allegedly failed to disclose his purported daughter, Tyrian, in his nomination papers.
Advocate Hamid Shah represented the petitioner in court, with PTI leader Shibli Faraz also present during the proceedings.
Justice Jahangiri noted that a division bench had already ruled the petition inadmissible, with two judges having previously made this determination.
Justice Jahangiri asked Advocate Hamid Shah for his input on the matter and inquired about the consequences if two out of the three judges signed the decision.
In response, Advocate Hamid Ali indicated that he could only assist the court after reviewing the earlier decision in the case.
The petitioner's lawyer requested an extension of two to three weeks. However, Justice Jahangiri pointed out that since two judges had already deemed the petition inadmissible, granting a new date was not feasible.
The bench subsequently dismissed the petition, reaffirming its inadmissibility.
