Lahore: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has crossed important milestones in 100 days.

Director General (DG) PDMA Irfan Ali Kathia said that six trucks of ration bags were sent to help 2500 families affected by the rains in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. 32 citizens died due to lightning in Punjab, whose families were provided immediate financial support on the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab.

He stated that the farmers were also financially supported for the crops affected by rains and fires. The effective measures were taken across the province to prevent heat waves. Water bowers were provided to the residents of Cholistan for clean drinking water.

Irfan Ali Kathia added that given the possible flood, mock exercises were organized in all districts. Boats, life jackets, camps and other necessary equipment were provided to Pakistan Army and rescue organisations as per recommendations.

Director General PDMA further said that on the special instructions of Chief Minister Punjab, fire fighting equipment was provided to the forest department. Special measures have been taken to protect forests and tourists in Murree, and construction of houses affected by landslides in Murree. Financial assistance has been provided to the citizens.

He further stated that because of climate change, think tank Green Saver was established. Due to the think tank there will be substantial benefit in smog control. As per the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, PDMA stands by the side of the citizens in every difficult hour.
