The two teams from Group D of the T20 World Cup faced each other in Kingstown
Kingstown: Bangladesh defeated Nepal by 21 runs in the 37th International Cricket Council (ICC) Men's T20 World Cup match.
Batting first, Bangladesh scored 106 runs in 19.3 overs. Nepal were all out for 85 runs in 19.2 overs chasing a target of 107 runs.
Earlier, Nepal won the toss and decided to field against Bangladesh.
First innings
Batting first against Nepal, Bangladesh's Shakib-ul-Hassan scored 17 runs, Layton Das scored 10 runs, Mohammad Allah scored 13 runs and Tawheed Ruday scored only nine runs.
Nepali bowlers Rohit Poudel, Sandeep Lamichane, Deependra Singh and Sompal Kami took two wickets each while controlling the Bangladeshi batsmen.
Second innings
In pursuit of Bangladesh's target of 107 runs, Nepal's batsmen could not stay. Kushal Malla scored 27, Deependra Singh 25 and Asif Shaikh 17 runs while no other Nepalese batsman could enter double figures.
Against the Nepalese batsmen, Hasan Saqib of Bangladesh took four wickets, Mustafizur Rehman three, Shakib-ul-Hassan two wickets while Taskeen Ahmed took one wicket.
The two teams from Group D of the T20 World Cup faced each other in Kingstown.
It is pertinent to note that the team of Nepal has not qualified for the next stage of the T20 World Cup, while Bangladesh has qualified for the Super-VIII stage by winning today's match.
