Non-bailable arrest warrant issued for CM KP Gandapur

Islamabad: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Islamabad Saturday issued non-bailable arrest warrants against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.

The hearing on the petitions related to the May 9 cases against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders was held in the ATC of Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra. He had ordered Gandapur to appear before courty at 10:00am.

On this occasion, Gandapur's lawyer Raja Zahoor-ul-Hasan appeared in the court and submitted his attendance waiver request to the court. To which the prosecutor said that the court should see the conduct of the accused, there is a continuous violation.

Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra remarked that last time on 4th he applied for an exemption from attendance and on the 8th, his health was fine in the meeting.

Lawyer Zahoor took the stand that the court should approve the request for exemption from attendance today, and assured his attendance in the future.

Judge Tahir Abbas, rejecting the plea for ​​immunity, also issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Ali Amin Gandapur, Wasiq Qayyum Abbasi, Raja Rashid Hafeez and Amir Mahmood Kayani. 

Apart from this, the court has declared Umar Tanveer Butt a Proclaimed Offender (PO) due to his continuous absence.

It is pertinent to note that a case has been registered against the PTI leaders in the I-9 police station under the provisions of terrorism.
