Security concerns: £190mn case hearing postponed till Oct 28

Islamabad: The Accountability Court of Islamabad postponed the hearing of the 190-million-pound case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi.

Judge Nasir Javed Rana of the Accountability Court heard the 190-million-pound case against founder PTI and Bushra Bibi. Imran Khan's assistant lawyer Ansar Kayani while National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Deputy Prosecutor General Sardar Muzaffar appeared in the court.

Advocate Ansar Kayani asked for some time to confirm with the senior counsel as they are busy in the Islamabad High Court (IHC). ‘I will take directions and inform the court,’ on which the court adjourned the hearing of the case.

When the hearing resumed after the break, Ansar Kayani appeared in the court and said that the notification regarding security in the jail had been extended and the case could not be heard in Adiala Jail at that time.

On which the accountability court adjourned hearing the 190-million-pound case till October 28.

It is pertinent to note that due to security concerns in Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail, the ban on meeting prisoners has been further extended and the jail superintendent has requested to postpone the hearing of PTI founder Imran Khan's cases.
